1. Systems Requirements

Document size and compatible file formats
A document must not be bigger than 2 MB for UG/PG course applications and not bigger than 5 MB for HDR applications. Acceptable formats are: pdf, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, jpg, jpeg, tif and tiff. Maximum 5 files can be attached in some sections.
2. What documents do I need to submit with my UOW ApplyOnline application?
Academic qualifications – electronic or hardcopies of academic records, marksheets or transcripts for secondary or tertiary studies previously undertaken. (Official certified English translations are also required for documents in another language.) The transcripts must show all subjects undertaken, grades obtained (including failures), stages reached or that academic requirements of the course have been completed. Digital academic documents issued via My eQuals are also accepted.
English language qualifications – if the academic qualifications have not been completed in a country where English is recognised as the medium of instruction; or, if the qualification (minimum 2 years’ duration) was studied in English in a recognised English speaking country, but was not completed within two years of commencement of study at UOW, then evidence of satisfying UOW’s English language requirements must be provided. English speaking countries include Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bhutan, Botswana, Canada, Fiji, Gambia, Ghana, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Mauritius, New Zealand, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Tonga, Trinidad & Tobago, Uganda, UK, USA, Zambia.
* For TOEFL results you will also need to arrange for Princeton to forward an official score report to UOW.
Credit Transfer (ie advanced standing/subject exemption): students may seek advanced standing (or credit) on the basis of tertiary studies completed prior to enrolment at UOW. You will need to provide a copy of your syllabus or subject descriptions with your application. If successful in your application, your offer will be conditional upon the receipt of original or certified copies of your supporting documents. Any other conditions noted in your offer, if applicable, will need to be cleared prior to your enrolment.

3. When will I hear about my application?
Provided you have submitted all relevant information, the assessment generally takes up to two (2) weeks to process. However, if you are applying for credit transfer, applications may take a little longer.
Following submission of your online application, you will be advised of your student number by email.
Once your application has been assessed, you will be notified by email.

Change of Name
If you have changed your name since undertaking matriculation or tertiary level examinations, or if any of your documents show a name which is different from the one that you have used on this application form, you must present certified documentary evidence of the change (marriage certificate, deed poll, statutory declaration).

Airport Pick-up and Accommodation
The University offers a complimentary Airport Pick Up Service for all newly enrolled UOW International students arriving in Australia for the first time. Further information on this pickup service can be obtained from http://accommodation.uow.edu.au/about/accommodation/airport/

6. Please make sure that the popup blocker on your computer is OFF
1. If you are using Internet Explorer, you may see a message about under the address bar like this picture below when you try to save your application or try to select a course.
If you do, simply right-click anywhere in that message, select Temporary Allow Pop-ups. Then click on the Select Course button again.
If you are using Firefox and the popup blocker is on, you will receive a message saying that the Firefox prevented this site from opening a popup window.
You will need to click the Options button, then select Allow popups from smp.uow.edu.au. You will also need to click the Select Course button in Step 3 of the online application form again.
Please remember to save your application as you go through the process. When you click Save button, which is located at the bottom left-hand corner, the details of your application ID and password will be generated and displayed to you in a separated window. The ID and password allow you to come back to finish your incomplete application online. The ID and password will be invalid soon after the application is submitted (after you click I Accept in Step 7 of the application form).
Once your application is processed by one of our staff, you will be given a student number. From this point onwards, you should quote this student number in all future correspondence with the University of Wollongong.
2. To activate the Select Course button in Step 3: Course Application, the following criteria must be selected:
- Course Level (Undergraduate or Postgraduate)
- Mode of Delivery (On Campus, Distance or Flexible)
- Commencement Year (must be 4 digits e.g. 2008, 2009 etc.)
- Campus (Please note International students can only study at Innovation Campus, Sydney or Wollongong campus.)
If one of the above criteria is missing or incomplete, the Select Course button will not be selectable. The field next to the Select Course button is not a free text field. It is there to display the name of the course chosen from the Select Course button. Once the course is selected, another button called Select Session will then be visible.
